This introductory workshop is specially designed for beginners by Singapore Literature Prize-winning writer Melissa De Silva.

You will learn why the memoir genre has been soaring in popularity recently. You will also explore the difference between memoir, autobiography and journaling; and why everyday people can and should write their own rich life stories.

Writing will be the main focus of this workshop, as you are led in a series of gentle exercises that tap into your life experiences. Learn the techniques of how to shape your life experiences into vivid and memorable narratives for the reader.

You are invited to bring along 2-3 photos from any point of your life for some writing exercises, if you are comfortable doing so.
