SYNOPSIS
In this hands-on workshop, adults will learn how to tell stories orally using visual support materials to guide their audience’s imagination.  This workshop is suitable for storytellers who target young audiences aged 3 to 10 years old. When you allow your audience to use your visual support materials to retell the story, they will be learning many skills, such as vocabulary, comprehension, sequencing, and story recall. We will play a game to understand the story elements while creating a story and discuss storyboarding. Finally participants will create visual support materials to tell a story in a group and receive positive feedback.

AIMS

  • Use pictures of scenes when telling a story (similar to the Kamishibai method)
  • Use pictures of characters when telling a story
  • Draw while telling a story
  • Use the picture transformation method when telling a story
