The Short Story is a unique and challenging medium compared to the Novel. It defies any definite characterisation. But there is a way to learn to write one! Right here in this beginner's level workshop, budding writers aged 11 - 19 years old will be guided on the essentials of a Short Story anatomy which are

  • Theme
  • Plot
  • Character
  • Location
  • Language

Develop a stronger understanding of brainstorming a gripping story idea, developing memorable characters and plotting a short story based on all these. Participants will start work on a rough draft and receive feedback from 2011, 2007 Golden Point Award winner Hassan Hasaa’Ree Ali who will guide you through the steps in this 3 hour workshop!
