Era Natarasan

Era Natarasan @ Aysha Natarasan is a Tamil children literature writer, translator and novelist. Aysha, Rose, Poojyamam Andu, Naga and Malar Algebra are some of his well known works. His work Poojyamam Andu (Year Zero) was printed in Braille for the visually handicapped, the first Tamil work to do so. He is also a regular contributor to various children’s magazines, such as Chutti Vikadan, Thulir, Gokulam, Pudhiya Thalaimurai (Kalvi), etc. Three of his stories have been made into short films and some of his works have been translated into many languages including English and French.

As an eminent scholar and teacher, he was conferred the Dr. Radhakrishnan State Award for his contribution in the field of Education and Child-Rights. He currently lives in Cuddalore, a Southern town of India and is principal of a private higher secondary school.
